Shwayhat Steps Up: GreenKey Technologies Announces New CEO

GreenKeyTechnologies_homepage_March2017

Voice software and VoIP network solution provider GreenKey has a brand new boss.

A fintech veteran with experience in sales, business development, and product management, Nader Shwayhat will join GreenKey as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Shwayhat takes the helm from Paul Christensen, who was named CEO of the company last April. “Greenkey is challenging the entire notion of financial phone, turret, and transcription services,” Shwayhat said. “I’m thrilled to help bring our disruptive products to the entire industry.”

Anthony Tassone, founder and Chief Product Officer for GreenKey added that Shwayhat’s “domain expertise and executive leadership within capital markets” made him an ideal candidate to lead the company, “We are confident that he will infuse GreenKey with the same enthusiasm and commercial focus that he has throughout his impressive career,” Tassone said.

GreenKey_NaderShwayhatShwayhat served as a strategic advisor to GreenKey for five months before being tapped as the company’s new CEO. Previous to GreenKey, he was Head of Global Sales at Novus Partners, and held Executive Director and Senior Director positions at CME Group where he worked for more than four years. He was founder, Senior Product Manager, and Director of New Business Development for Pivot, a company that developed instant messaging technologies for financial market participants. Pivot was sold to CME Group for an undisclosed sum in 2012. Shwayhat earned both a Bachelors and a Masters of Science in Engineering from University of Michigan.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, GreenKey demonstrated its technology during its FinDEVr presentation on voice software at FinDEVr New York. Senior Software Engineer Rohan Bedarkar and VP of Engineering Joe Heenan showed how GreenKey’s voice workspace supports remote collaboration with video conferencing and screen sharing while providing necessary insight for compliance officers (such as access to real-time transcribed conversations), biometric logins, and military-grade encryption.

GreenKey unveiled its new mobile turret app last December, a solution that is fully integrated with its VoIP network and its current turret hardware capabilities. In August, the company launched its Design Partner Program to make it easier for developers to work with the platform, and in May, GreenKey appointed Richard Garnier as its new Chief Revenue Officer.

GreenKey Launches Design Partner Program

Screen Shot 2016-08-08 at 8.45.22 AM

Digital telephony platform for financial markets, GreenKey Technologies, kicked off a Design Partner Program (DPP) today that offers participating firms an opportunity to work closely with GreenKey.

DPP will involve tier 1 banks, trading firms and exchanges, and two interdealer brokers, Tradition and Tullett Prebon. Participants will work with GreenKey to develop workflow standards and use cases for the company’s technology, which offers the financial services markets a voice software and VoIP network that provides a compliant workspace for collaboration. Though the company is limiting DPP participation, the company plans to collaborate with others in the form of partnerships.

In the press release, GreenKey noted that it is working with “seven of the world’s top-10 investment banks and several leading global exchanges” to test or deploy speech recognition capabilities and Voice-User Interface, which enables users to easily and quickly interact with their computers.

At FinDEVr New York 2016, GreenKey’s Sr. Software Engineer Rohan Bedarkar and VP of Engineering Joe Heenan showed how the workspace performs biometric login, push-to-talk, click-to-call, video call, instant messaging, voice & chat recordings, voice dictation, and recording transcription.

GreenKey Names Richard Garnier as Chief Revenue Officer

GreenKey_homepage_May2016

A 30-year veteran of the financial services and information technology industries, Richard Garnier will join GreenKey Technologies as its new Chief Revenue Officer. Effectively immediately, Garnier will oversee the company’s global sales, marketing, and strategic partnerships.

Calling Garnier a “world-class performer with an exceptional track record,” GreenKey CEO Paul Christensen pointed out that Garnier’s experience working with leading financial institutions – many of which are GreenKey clients – will be invaluable. “His energy and ability will help us scale the business and truly change the way the markets communicate,” Christensen said.

Garnier (pictured below) is GreenKey’s second C-level hire this year; the company added former Goldman Sachs managing director Paul Christensen as its new CEO in April. Garnier comes to GreenKey from Thomson Reuters where he served in a number of leadership roles over 12 years, including Managing Director for Northern GreenKey_RichardGarnierEurope. Speaking about GreenKey’s voice-as-a-service solutions, Garnier emphasized the importance of voice communications throughout the entire trading process. “There’s an incredible opportunity for GreenKey to be a positive force of disruption in the financial markets, and I’m delighted to play a role in that fintech revolution,” he said.

Founded in 2013 and based in Chicago, GreenKey won the “Most Promising Sell-Side Start Up” award from Waters Technology last year, and was included in Built In Chicago’s “50 Chicago startups to watch in 2016” list this February. The company’s Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network provides more than 300 banks, brokerages, and trading firms with a voice workspace that makes voice communication secure, compliant, and more cost-effective. Its Instant Messenger Aggregator, which will help ensure compliance for professionals at financial institutions who use popular messaging apps, is expected to launch in early May. The company presented its technology at FinDEVr New York 2016.

GreenKey Unveils New CEO and May Launch of Instant Messenger Aggregator

GreenKey_homepage_Apr2016

GreenKey Technologies is less than a month away from enabling financial institutions to safely use the same popular messaging apps as their customers.

The company’s instant message aggregator, which records messages sent over third party platforms like WhatsApp, AOL Instant Messenger, and Yahoo!, will launch in early May. The aggregator helps FIs satisfy mandatory record-keeping requirements, capturing and storing messages and blocking the ability to delete them. GreenKey CEO Paul Christensen said the technology will allow professionals at FIs to use a variety of messaging platforms while relieving institutions of the problem of maintaining records. “Our instant messenger aggregator takes the burden off the firms and makes it easy for them to comply,” Christensen said.

GreenKeyTechnologies_FinDEVrNY2016_stage

Pictured: Joe Heenan, VP Engineering for GreenKey Technologies demonstrating Green Key Technologies’ voice workspace at FinDEVr New York.

Product Officer Anthony Tassone called the aggregator a “natural extension” of the company’s innovations in voice-driven collaboration. “In fact,” Tassone said, “Green Key has been working with customers on voice dictation inside the messaging platforms, enabling faster workflows for brokers and traders who must submit deals within a certain period of time to remain compliant.”

The release of the instant message aggregator comes in the wake of the company’s debut at FinDEVr New York in March and the arrival of Christensen (pictured) as the GreenKey’s new CEO. A former managing director at Goldman Sachs, Christensen is an expert on global market structure issues who also served as Global Head PaulChristensen_GreenKey_CEOof Strategic Investments for Deutsche Bank and, before that, as Co-COO at multi-dealer electronic trading platform, Volbroker. He holds degrees from the University of Queensland, London School of Economics, and the London School of Business.

Christensen’s enthusiasm for the platform is palpable, saying that all phones in the financial markets should be GreenKey-enabled. “At the global investment banks where I worked, I couldn’t one-touch video conference my colleagues or address multiple counter-parties by tapping a button on a tablet,” Christensen said. “The terrific functionality that we all take for granted on our smartphones has just not been available in the corporate setting until now.”

A self-described bunch of “telephony, telecom, and web development geeks,” GreenKey Technologies was founded in 2013, and is based in Chicago, with offices in London, New York, and Singapore.  Green Key Technologies’ VoIP network creates a secure, compliant, software voice workspace that empowers next generation, “high throughput” collaboration, with multiple counterparties and full textual documentation of conversations. More than 250 of the largest banks in the world use GreenKey’s voice-as-a-service solutions. The company was awarded the Most Promising Sell-Side Start Up Award by Waters Technology in 2015.
