With summer coming and temperatures warming up, there’s no better time than the present to learn just how cool you are.
Flybits, which provides cloud-based, personalization and experience management for app developers, announced today that Gartner had featured the company in its 2016 report on “Cool Vendors in Platform as a Service (PaaS).” In a response to the report, Flybits founder Hossein Rahnama called Flybits “the only solution that allows enterprises to aggregate and unify public, sensory, and secure in-house data into a context hub.” Rahnama said this “allows them to extend the intelligence of their mobile channels, and create new and unique experiences for their customers and staff.”

Gartner’s Platform as a Service report looks at how businesses are looking at ways to get deeper insights from artificial intelligence. “Context data is the material representation of this insight,” Gartner analyst Yefim Natis wrote. “Mobile apps will increasingly depend on context awareness to deliver intimately personal user experiences.” Context awareness, per Natis, is the connective tissue between the real-time data streaming needs of the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as efforts to improve automation.
Flybits was named a “company to watch” in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for 2015. In March, the company added a visual rule editing tool called Rule Builder to its mobile personalization and experience management app, Experience Studio. Rule Builder enables marketing professionals to set up contextual notifications without having to deploy an entire development team to create new rules and alerts. “Our product enables digital marketers to go way beyond location,” Flybits CEO Rudisin explained, “by using sensor information, weather, health data from wearables, user persona, past buying behavior, and more.”
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Flybits made its FinDEVr debut this spring at FinDEVr New York. The company’s presentation was titled “Using Flybits Experience Management for Mobile Banking.” Flybits has raised $4.3 million in funding, and includes Robert Bosch Venture Capital, Trellis Capital, and Vodafone Ventures among its investors.
